Our Philosophy

We want to fundamentally redefine how personal information and user privacy are managed and secured. Piiano helps companies, at any size or stage, easily apply privacy by design for working with sensitive data. Embracing the shift left paradigm, we designed a dev-first product that also empowers CISOs and CPOs with the governance they need to keep sensitive data safe. Security controls only partially protect our data. In practice, augmenting data with many security layers doesn’t solve the problem of data theft, security incidents and other threats. Meet The Team

We bring 40 years of combined practical and leadership experience in the security industry and have worked closely together for the last ten years. Our last company, NorthBit, was acquired by MagicLeap and became its product security division. We then found ourselves leading MagicLeap’s software security lifecycle globally, overseeing 700 engineers. This experience gave us first-hand insight into how hard it is to practically shift security and privacy left when developers are already at capacity meeting other business needs. In building Piiano, we’re looking to bridge privacy capabilities organization-wide to ease the lives of developers, enable governance for CISOs and CPOs and finally keep our sensitive data secure.

David is a seasoned manager with over 20 years of commercial development experience from companies of all sizes, including Intel, Check Point, EMC, and SentinelOne. At SentinelOne, he managed the company’s SaaS platform and over 100 engineers. David holds an MSc. in computer science from the Hebrew University.

Guy has over ten years of experience with machine learning. He worked for a decade at IBM Research, leading a team of researchers that developed and integrated several AI technologies into IBM Watson. Guy has published numerous papers and patents in leading venues and holds a Ph.d. in computer science from Bar-Ilan University.

Guy boasts over 13 years of marketing experience as a C-level executive, having had a significant role in the successful IPO of XL Media. Guy holds an MBA, a cum laude BSc in Computer science, and marketing executive education from Harvard Business School.

Tomer is a CPA and an experienced executive with extensive knowledge in investment banking and international finance. Previously, he was the chief financial officer of various private and public companies. Tomer holds a BA in accounting and economics from the Hebrew University and MBA from Tel-Aviv University.
